We go back a long time – right back to both living in Orpington.  I first have memories of singing together in the same choir and then, after I was retired from teaching, going to help out in the GP surgery, where Yvonne was a much-loved doctor and friend to us all.

I first met Yvonne when working as a Health Visitor at the Dr’s Centre in St Paul’s Cray.  Yvonne was such a help to me with any particular problems I came across in my work. Yvonne was completely selfless, always thinking of other people’s needs before her own. There must be so many of us who can count Yvonne as a truly faithful friend, as Chris was also.  I just feel so privileged to have known her.

What an amazing lady!  I so enjoyed her company during our time with the Orpington Chorale ~ a wonderful singing partner.  Yvonne was a tower of strength during my husband’s final illness and, shortly afterwards, on a most welcome visit to Emery Down.  I will never forget her generous hospitality.
